Instructions for the use of network analyzers - network maintenance

Time:2021-02-02             Xi'an Agitek spectrometer maintenance center    1422
The vector network analyzer itself has a signal generator, which can scan a frequency band. If it is a single-port measurement, add the excitation signal to the port, and measure the amplitude and phase of the reflected signal, you can Determine the impedance or reflection. For the dual-port measurement, you can also measure the transmission parameters. Due to the obvious influence of distribution parameters, the network analyzer must be calibrated before use. The following Agitek network analyzer repair center shares the simple operation and use of the network analyzer:
1. Introduction to the front panel
There are many buttons on the front panel to achieve different functions, mainly including:
1) "LINE" key, power key, 1 means on, 0 means off.
2) "Soft key", located on the right side of the display, has a total of 8 keys, which provide different functions according to the status of the process.
3) "ACTIVE CHANNEL" area, there are 2 keys for switching between two ports.
4) "RESPONSE" area, a total of 8 keys, including display, calibration, logo, size and other keys.
5) "STIMULUS" area, there are 5 keys in total, mainly used for frequency setting.
6) "ENTRY" area, mainly numeric keys and an adjustment knob.
7) "INSTRUMENT STATE" area, including restart, print, save, etc.
2. Commonly used test methods
2.1 Measurement of reflection parameters
1) Select a reflection port.
2) Select "START" to set the start frequency, and select "STOP" to set the end frequency.
3) Press "CAL", "CALIBRATION MENU" to calibrate.
4) Select "S11 1-PORT", the screen will prompt to connect "OPEN".
5) Connect the circuit breaker, the screen will prompt to connect "SHORT".
6) Connect the short circuit, the screen will prompt to connect "LOAD".
7) Connect the matching load, press the "STANDARD DONE" key, the calibration is over. At this point, the DUT can be connected to test the reflection parameters.
8) During the test, parameters such as standing wave and input impedance can be viewed.
2.2 Measurement of transmission parameters
1) Prepare two test cables and connect them to one port respectively.
2) Select "START" to set the start frequency, and select "STOP" to set the end frequency.
3) Press "CAL", "CALIBRATION MENU" to calibrate.
4) Press the "RESPONSE" key, the screen will display "OPEN", "SHORT" and "THRU".
5) Short-circuit the two test cables and press the "THRU" and "STANDARD DONE" keys to complete the calibration.
6) During the test, some function keys can be used to display and view more conveniently.
3. Precautions for the use of the instrument
1) The power supply of the instrument must be well grounded. Sometimes the instrument will prompt "CAUTION: OVERLOAD ON INPUT X, POWER REDUCED", indicating that the power supply voltage is too large, and it needs to be turned on after the voltage is stable.
2) If the component under test is sensitive to power, pay attention to the output power of the network analyzer.
3) The calibration piece is the benchmark for testing, so take special care to prevent it from being soiled.
4) Other precautions will not be listed one by one. For detailed test methods and precautions, please refer to the user manual.
